About Me

I am a mature grandmother of 8 and a full-time student doing  BA degrees in Fine Art and also Visual Culture through Open Learning with Curtin University in Perth.

As you can see by the title of my blog, I am a fabricaholic and love all types of textiles. I make pieced quilts and also machine embroidered quilts and being a "longarm quilter", I quilt my own and my friend's quilts. I also digitise my own embroidery designs using software called Generations and Embird, which I sell on my website www.jenninefarrugiadesigns.com.

When I am not studying, quilting, sewing or embroidering, I love to go caravanning and try to go away at least one long weekend every six weeks or more if possible. My other love is reading and I am currently reading about 4 different books at the same time.(I get bored with just one book..) I am experimenting with E Books at the moment but prefer to hold a physical book.

I have just finished reading a series of books by Dr.Michael Newton, PhD, starting with Journey of Souls, Destiny of Souls and Memories of Life Between Lives. These are extremely interesting books and I recommend them to everyone. I also love the Mammoth Hunter series of books by Jean M.Auel, who has just released another one called "Plains of Passage", which she says is the last in the series, and last but not least, I am a huge fan of Diana Gabaldon who wrote a series of books which include Crossfire, Dragonfly in Amber and three Lord John books.
